The Project Explorer contains all the topics within your project along with images, page layouts, stylesheets, and other assets.
The Topic Editor is equipped with powerful authoring functionalities including page map, table editing, unlimited undo, hyperlink designer and cross referencing, build flag highlighting, and so on. The XHTML source editor includes IntelliSense and tag completion.
The Link Designer improves the usability of the content by providing quick and easy access to related content. You can also create links between your content using standard hyperlinks or the See Also feature grouped at the end of a given page.
Widgets allow you to publish dynamic content (e.g. dropdown sections, enlarge in place images, colorized example code) without requiring any manual authoring effort and with no need to have HTML or JavaScript knowledge. Simply drop a pre-defined Widget in your content and Document! X and HelpStudio Bundle will take care of the rest.
The application is built around CSS which is a powerful web standard. You can apply existing styles using the Style Picker or define new style rules or inline styles using the Style Editor and edit your Stylesheets in the built-in Stylesheet editor.
The application supports Unicode throughout, including Japanese, Chinese, and Korean. Unicode support is not a high-priced add-on and it is a fundamental feature of the core product.
Select the Table of Contents Layout tab to define and arrange the topics. In the Project Explorer, select topics and drag them to the TOC Layout. Use the up/down arrow to move the added topics up or down.
